Hi..Intel SSD which is my OS-C drive is connected to the motherboard SATA connector designated as SATA connector 3. It has the win 7 anti virus 2012 on it, and it's a cybercriminal virus.Browser IE 8 is preferred, but use Fire Fox sometimes Other Info Linksys Routers, switches, & Hubs Too Many USB Flash Drives to count, Biggest is 64GB ! On initial install of W7 I had a problem where the MBR was installed on my internal N drive (connected to motherboard SATA connector 0 ) instead of on same drive as OS. I bought a cable with ESATA on one end and SATA on the other end. I connected a standard SATA drive to one end and the other end to the ESATA port on the back of the computer, and used an external power supply for the drive. I have lots of files I want to transfer to the new sata drive. I have tried numerous times on my PC to install Windows 7 onto my Sata Drive to no avail. Most of them were normal restarts, nothing strange, although this time I was playing Co D: MW2 when the game froze up/sound skipping, so I turned the PC off, tried to turn the PC back on, and nothing... This time I hit F1 and put in the correct date and time. After a quick glimpse I couldn't find anything that resembled one on the mobo, but it's a bit late/dark and I might have missed it. Do we have this right, the PC is 2 months old and you have alredy replaced one stick of ram... From your post it appears to be a mobo problem, so have you contacted Velocity?I hit the save hotkey and it boots up normally with the time and date I just entered, np. Did they replace the bad ram or did you purchase else ware? System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Grown OS Windows 7 Ultimate (64) CPU i7-2600K Motherboard Asus P8P67-M Pro Memory G. I have an IDE drive from my Windows XP system that I would like to install in my new system. There had been a few times that I actually reached Windows, but the drive was listed as unallocated and I could do nothing with it. If I select either of the options, it says, "enter xxxx....", but it goes no where. When I can get into BIOS, the drive is recognized and the original drive is set as the first to boot.

If I tried, I got the error message "Device not ready". A format was suggested, so I copied all my data to my external drive and formatted in XP. I keep hearing that either setup should work, but it doesn't. Same with "adapter" is it an IDE to SATA adapter that connects to the drive itself?

The system is completely updated and the drivers for the controller card are the Windows 7 drivers from the manufacturer. I am wondering if you need to change a PCI setting if it's a PCI card controller.
